Evangelical Covenant Church Furlough 2012

Evangelical Covenant Church Furlough 2012

On April 22 Amanda and I traveled to the Evangelical Covenant Church in Savonburg, KS.  I put my in-laws on the spot and had them help demonstrate on the proper way to shake hands in Germany... at least from my observation. We finished up the morning with lunch at noon.  We had a great time hanging out with this church family. I love the first picture below and not just because my wife's in it.  Our theme for furlough 2012 was "Beautiful Feet" and here is one location of where you can find it in God's Word!

Coweta’s First Christian Church Furlough 2012

On March 25th, 2012, we traveled to the First Christian Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. There was a couple who sat in front of us that asked us if we knew some Knapp's out in Indiana.  They told us that these Knapp's pronounced their name by sounding out the K.  That is how Amanda and I say our last name in Germany but the K is silent in the US. We had a wonderful time at the fellowship dinner.  After that we swung by Starbucks with Allan (pastor) and Dena.  It was nice beginning a friendship with them.  Their two children were great also.  This family was very inspiring for Amanda and I.  We...

Guthrie’s Youth Group

Guthrie’s Youth Group

So as my first youth group lesson while on furlough we talked about none other than feet.  Feet have been our theme for our entire furlough: David's sermon, our presentation, and any other lessons.  This comes from the Scripture Romans 10:13-15, and basically we focus on the end of "how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news." So you can see from our pictures that we also played some games that focused on feet.  The youth had to be blindfolded and figure out with their feet what they were touching.  Also another game was that they had to find their shoe while being blindfolded. The...

Guthrie Christian Church Furlough 2012

On March 11th, 2012, David and Amanda Knapp visited Guthrie Christian Church.  They had a fun filled (busy) week and had lots of great conversations, mainly over a meal. This was the first church that David preached at since being on furlough.  His wife approved, so he must have done a decent job. :-) Check out the photos below and stay tuned for Amanda's Youth Group Photos!
