Crescent’s First Christian Church Furlough 2012

Oh my goodness, it has been over a month since we were at Crescent's First Christian Church.  We had a wonderful time visiting our family in Christ.  Our time with Pastor Keith and his wife Debbie were terrific.  God really took care of us through His people while we were there!

Guthrie’s Youth Group

Guthrie’s Youth Group

So as my first youth group lesson while on furlough we talked about none other than feet.  Feet have been our theme for our entire furlough: David's sermon, our presentation, and any other lessons.  This comes from the Scripture Romans 10:13-15, and basically we focus on the end of "how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news." So you can see from our pictures that we also played some games that focused on feet.  The youth had to be blindfolded and figure out with their feet what they were touching.  Also another game was that they had to find their shoe while being blindfolded. Guthrie Christian Church Furlough 2012

On March 11th, 2012, David and Amanda Knapp visited Guthrie Christian Church.  They had a fun filled (busy) week and had lots of great conversations, mainly over a meal. This was the first church that David preached at since being on furlough.  His wife approved, so he must have done a decent job. :-) Check out the photos below and stay tuned for Amanda's Youth Group Photos!

Inola Christian Church Furlough 2012

On Sunday February 5, 2012, Amanda and I traveled to Inola, Oklahoma so that we could share with Inola Christian Church about our life and ministry in Peine, Germany. We had a great time getting reacquainted with everyone.  Thank you to the Laird's and my family for opening up their homes to us. When we come back through we are looking forward to staying in the place that the church is offering to us. I haven't been sick since September 2010 and that was in Germany.  I suppose I got used to the German germs but now I am having issues with the Oklahoma germs. :-(  It's a good thing...

American Russian German Birthday Party

American Russian German Birthday Party

American Russian German Birthday Party?  Allow me to explain: American: Amanda and I are, of course, Americans. Russian: All of my young friends in these photos are originally from Russia. German: As you know, we live in Germany. Birthday Party: We celebrated our friend Daniel's birthday party in a very non-traditional German way.  A German is in charge of their own party.  They invite people to their home and basically serve everyone. Because we planned Daniel's party he received an American style birthday party.
