Who Needs the Muffin Man When We Have a Pancake Boy!

Who Needs the Muffin Man When We Have a Pancake Boy!

Okay, Max isn't the muffin man but he could be the pancake boy.  This morning max stepped into the kitchen, strapped on his apron and mixed us up some pancake batter.  This is one of the many benefits of having a son.  Now if I could just get him to clean the toilet.

How We Celebrated St. Patrick’s Day 2014

How We Celebrated St. Patrick’s Day 2014

We are a little rusty on the story of St. Patrick, so we went ahead and told Max about the story of Noah because it includes a rainbow. St. Patrick's day was celebrated with brightly colored food.  Amanda is, of course, the master mind behind this idea.  Max enjoyed everything... it was food after all. German Tacos

German Tacos

Germ-Mex Tacos are not to be confused with Tex-Mex Tacos or even Dad's Tacos (though the taste is similar).  Germ-Mex Tacos are tacos made as best as one can in Germany, which lately haven't been too bad. One of our friends from church has a good taco shell recipe that we decided to try.  Amanda mixed it up and flattened the shells.  I fried them up then...

Homemade Cake Decorating

Homemade Cake Decorating

My parents have given me cake decorating supplies for years as gifts for Christmas or Birthdays.  Well, I have finally been able to use them. I had so much fun decorating with my friend Sri from Sri Lanka.  This was Sri's first time to decorate a cake.  We took the same German language class together.  From time to time, we try to get together to practice our German. Here are some cake decorating photos:

Dad’s Tacos

Here is my dad's recipe for Tacos! How To Make Tacos by David Get 1 pound of beef and start cooking it in a pan. Once it is cooked all the way through (medium rare does not go well with tacos) add one packet of taco seasoning. Add two cans of kidney or pinto beans, add lid and let simmer for 20 minutes. Pour enough canola oil in to a different pan so that you are able to submerge the taco shell all the way. Turn the burner on hi or all the way up. Once the oil is hot put one taco shell (corn not flour) in the oil and after a couple of seconds fold shell in half.  Cook on each...
