Marienburg Castle

Marienburg Castle

There are at least 2 nice things about Let's Start Talking.  First, we get to meet wonderful people, and second those wonderful people want to take us to wonderful places here in Germany. It only took me one year to put up these images of our trip to the Marienburg Castle.  On that same day, we went to the Kürbisfest in Eldagsen.  I was able to finish that post on our furlough to America.

I wanted to have a blog that consisted of just our photos, so I created www.createeuro.com.  I have since decided to consolidate my sites. Now Create Euro will point to Mosaic Mercy.  Here are all of the photographs that Amanda and I took for that site. All of the photos were taken in Peine, Germany.

Kleines Fest im Großen Garten 2011 (photos)

David and I went to Hannover to the Herrenhäuser Gärten with our friends Olaf, Petra, and their daughter.  It was amazing!  The garten invites entertainers from all over the world. First we watched Teatro dei Piedi, which is theater with feet in Italian.  The woman did a wonderful job using her entire body really when she acted out the skit to music. Then we went to see the magician and Anhui acrobats with our friends.  First was the German magician Xavier Tapias.  He used magic in an unusual way.  I have never before seen a magician use electronics.  He put together a robot...

Herkules von Kassel

Herkules von Kassel

Schloss & Schlosspark Wilhelmshöhe Our friend Olaf took us to Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel.  There is a octagon shaped building on the top of the mountain that we visited.  On top of the building stands the statue of Hercules.   This was the starting point where the water came out.  We watched the water flow from the top all the way to the bottom of the mountain through a series of several different beautiful waterfalls to the huge château. 350,000 liters of water was released, and it takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to flow all the way down the mountain. We walked so long uphill...

Children’s Circus in Germany

Children’s Circus in Germany

[This is part of the Odds and Ends 2010 series.  Go check out the other posts!] With the circus in town, the school in Hämelerwald put on a spectacular show.  Hämelerwald is a small town close to Peine where we live.  The kids learned very quickly how to do some stunts and it was fun and impressive.  I am sure that the kids had fun too. David and I were invited by a couple of friends from our English program (LST).  We sat with Vanessa while Sabine was one of those sponsor parents that made the show as great as it was. Sabine was the one that I would zoom in on from time to time. ...
