Baby #2: Baby Belly Pics

Baby #2: Baby Belly Pics

Well, there must be something in the water in America because again we got pregnant while on furlough. At the beginning of the pregnancy I struggled with some nausea, but that didn't last long. This pregnancy is different than last time. I feel like I just eat and eat and eat a ton. Maybe I can't remember too well since last time, but I think this baby is more active or pushes harder than Max did. Sometimes I feel like the baby is going to push it's way right out of my belly. I have noticed that with this pregnancy I have had more pain especially here at the end of the pregnancy. I notice...

Baby #2: Ultrasound Pics

Baby #2: Ultrasound Pics

Just like last time, we didn't want to know if this baby was going to be a boy or girl. We have a picture of just an arm because this kiddo was not willing to show it's face. But this last time was perfect - we got 2 good pics! We have been having fun with Max, always asking him if he wants a brother or sister, boy or girl, or Alex or Olivia. It has been funny to see what he would always say, but he would always pick the feminine option no matter how much we tried to trick him. But at the beginning of the pregnancy, he would always say cookie. While at the doctor, Daddy would explain the different...

Max’s First Time With Roush Grandparents

Max’s First Time With Roush Grandparents

On November 27th, 2012 Max got to visit with his Grandma and Grandpa Roush for the first time in person (not Skype).  Max seems fairly content hanging out with them most of the day. :-)

Max’s 1st Bath at Home

Max’s 1st Bath at Home

On November 8 when Max was 2 weeks old, he had his first German bath at home.  By that I mean, we put him in the bathroom sink full of warm water but didn't use soap.  He really enjoyed it.  He was very content while Mom held him sprinkling water over him.  Oh and yes, he peed in the water!

Max’s First Bath

Max’s First Bath

So Max was only wiped off on Thursday when he was born.  He was starting to smell pretty stinky, and you could still see leftover yuck on top of his head.  So we were glad to give him his first bath on Friday. The nurse started bathing him to show us how it was done.  Then Mom took over and tried her very best.  I wasn't so sure about holding him down into the water, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been. After I had finished bathing him, the nurse showed us how to dry him off.  Then Daddy got to dress him.

My Baby Shower

My Baby Shower

On October 14, 2012, Katy Smelser threw me my first baby shower.  It was a blast!  There was lots of great cakes to eat.  Susan Bratcher and Alyssa Murphy had a lot of fun games for us to play. One game everyone had to blow up a balloon and stuff it under their shirt so that they were now pregnant then we had to put a coin in between our knees and waddle to the jar to drop our coin in the jar (representing pregnant women always having to waddle to the bathroom). Oh, and the team I was on won!  We also test tasted baby food - which was absolutely disgusting.  Wow, how do babies eat that...

Moving in 2012

Moving in 2012

The apartment we were living in didn't have a room for a baby, plus the house is for sale.  So to make sure we have a place to live, a place for the baby, and peace of mind that we have a home ready before the baby comes - We MOVED!  We moved from Peine to Stederdorf, which is closer to the church where we work.  We moved on September 29, 2012, my Mom's Birthday. Well, it was a bit too busy for pictures on moving day.  I just never got around to it.  But here are some pictures of us moving into our new apartment.  These are of our kitchen.  Remember kitchens in Germany do not normally...
