Maximus Knapp Visiting With Grandma and Grandpa Roush for the First Time
On November 27th, 2012 Max got to visit with his Grandma and Grandpa Roush for the first time in person (not Skype). Max seems fairly content hanging out with them most of the day.

Max’s 2nd Bath but 1st One at Home

On November 8 when Max was 2 weeks old, he had his first German bath at home. By that I mean, we put him in the bathroom sink full of warm water but didn’t use soap. He really enjoyed it. He was very content while Mom held him sprinkling water over him. Oh and yes, he peed in the water!

So Max was only wiped off on Thursday when he was born. He was starting to smell pretty stinky, and you could still see leftover yuck on top of his head. So we were glad to give him his first bath on Friday.
The nurse started bathing him to show us how it was done. Then Mom took over and tried her very best. I wasn’t so sure about holding him down into the water, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would have been.
After I had finished bathing him, the nurse showed us how to dry him off. Then Daddy got to dress him.

My Baby Shower

On October 14, 2012, Katy Smelser threw me my first baby shower. It was a blast! There was lots of great cakes to eat. Susan Bratcher and Alyssa Murphy had a lot of fun games for us to play.
One game everyone had to blow up a balloon and stuff it under their shirt so that they were now pregnant then we had to put a coin in between our knees and waddle to the jar to drop our coin in the jar (representing pregnant women always having to waddle to the bathroom).
Oh, and the team I was on won! We also test tasted baby food – which was absolutely disgusting. Wow, how do babies eat that stuff.
For another game everyone had to guess how big I was by cutting off a piece of yarn. Then they wrapped it around me to see who was the closest. Believe it or not, my friend Birgit won and her yarn was exact.
Katy and Anne made me a beautiful diaper cake. There was a white board for everyone to guess if the baby is a girl or boy. And I believe there were more tallies for the girl.
It was a wonderful party, and I really enjoyed myself (especially in my special chair!).
